Soil Datasets > Data > EIONET vs ESDAC > Data Collection on Contaminated Sites 2011

October 2011

In October 2011, the JRC launched an EIONET request for data on contaminated sites that required the responding by EIONET NRC for Soil to a questionnaire following technical guidelines. .

The data had to be submitted to the Environment Agency Austria, which supported the JRC in this work and which was the single point of contact for all matters related to the data collection.

The request was launched by JRC on 17 October 2011 and replies were due by 31 January 2012. The JRC and the Environment Agency Austria analyzed the received data and prepared an analysis report based on all replies and presented it to EIONET members for Soil for final comments.

February 2014

This draft report forms the basis for the compilation of the EEA indicator CSI-015 "progress in the management of contaminated sites", published in the JRC Reference Report "Progress in the Management of Contaminated Sites in Europe", which in turn will serve as input to the next State of the Environment report (2015).

The underlying data for the report are stored in the MS Excel file.
Some data/information that arrived at JRC after the data collection deadline (for Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Latvia) are bundled in a Zip file.
The results of the exercise were also used in a scientific paper relevant to Contaminated sites and health:
