SOIL MAPS OF LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN ISLANDS

 

As a continuation of the first and second phases involving the Soil Maps of Africa and Soil maps of Asia, respectively, in the third phase of the EuDASM, the maps of the Latin America and Caribbean islands pertaining to soil and related studies accounting to about 1060 maps were added to the archive. The list of the maps based on different countries and categories are as follows:

The mission of the Institute of Environment and Sustainability is to provide scientific and technical support to EU strategies for the protection of the environment and sustainable development. Employing an integrated approach to the investigation of air, water and soil contaminants, its goals are sustainable management of water resources, protection and maintenance of drinking waters, good functioning of aquatic ecosystems and good ecological quality of surface waters.

MANDATE OF ISRIC - WORLD SOIL INFORMATION

To increase knowledge of the land, its soils in particular, and to support the sustainable use of land resources. ISRIC is an independent knowledge and research centre, affiliated with the Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and functions as World Data Centre for Soils under the International Council for Science to collect, archive and disseminate data and information on the soils in the world.
