Ten months after the EU Soil Observatory was launched (December 2020), the first ever EUSO Stakeholders Forum was held on 19-21 October 2021.
This three-day event (built on six, focused, half-day sessions) reflected on the challenges facing soil within the various strategies of the Green Deal and Horizon Europe’s proposed Mission "A Soil Deal for Europe".
The meeting started the process for establishing a series of dedicated EUSO Working Groups to address burning scientific and policy questions (e.g. soil monitoring, citizen engagement and increased soil literacy, soil pollution, erosion and biodiversity).
Also a Young Soil Researchers Forum was organized, listening to ideas from a new generation of soil scientists!
The event was open to the public and broadcasted; it was followed by more than 2,000 people.
More information (including presentations and livestream recordings) is available from the EUSO Stakeholders Forum page.
