Download the version 1.2 data - INSPIRE version
- (8/5/2006) OCTOP INSPIRE raster: the original OCTOP (version 1.2) raster has been reprojected in order to align with the proposed INSPIRE standard GRID (for more information on this proposal, see the proceedings of the "1st Workshop on European Reference Grids". This results in a 1km raster with 5500 rows and 7500 columns, in the ETRS_LAEA co-ordinate system.
Download the version 1.2 original data : It is this version which is documented in the OCTOP booklet.
- in ASCII raster format (zipped : 10 MB ; unzipped : 100 MB) ; values are float ; proper care should be taken when importing the real data of the ASCII file into an application, particularly when importing the data as integer values ;
note : in this Version only areas with data (soil, land cover and temperature) are included, other areas are set to 0 ; - in native ESRI GRID format (zipped : 5 MB ; unzipped : 53 MB) ; the GRID has been produced from the ASCII raster format file ; values in the GRID remain float ;
Note regarding the Spatial Reference System for the original 1.2 data version :
is according to GISCO and is documented in the GISCO Database Manual, in Chapter 3 "Main characteristics of the GISCO reference database" under "Spatial Reference System"
