- The data provided has been prepared for use by internal research activities in the Joint Research Centre (JRC) Ispra in collaboration with the Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement (LSCE), INRAE, Paris-Saclay University. This work has been done in the context of the Collaborative Doctoral Partneship between JRC and LSCE and contributes to the objectives of the EU Soil Observatory addressing the soil erosion in relation to land degradation, climate change and food security.
- The data are the result of JRC research activities and are primarily made available for further research. The JRC does not accept any liability whatsoever for any error, missing data or omission in the data, or for any loss or damage arising from its use. The JRC agrees to provide the data free of charge but is not bound to justify the content and values contained in the databases.
- The permission to use the data specified above is granted on condition that, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are these data passed to third parties. They can be used for any purpose, including commercial gain.
- The user agrees to:
- make proper reference to the source of the data when disseminating the results to which this agreement relates;
- Participate in the verification of the data (e.g. by noting and reporting any errors or omissions discovered to the JRC).
Including land management in a European carbon model with lateral transfer to the oceans
Download the data file which includes the following:
a) The net gains of carbon due to the lateral movements (as in Figure 3a) - Filename: BalanceLateral_tCperYear_gains.tif;
b) The net losses of carbon due to the lateral movements (as in figure 3b) - - Filename: BalanceLateral_tCperYear_losses.tif
c) the input of carbon to the non-eroded soil carbon (SC) pool (as in Figure 6a) - Filename: NEM_LitterInput.tif;
d) the output of non-eroded SC due to microbial respiration (as in figure 6b) - - Filename: NEM_Respiration.tif;
e) Amount of the non-eroded SC that is lost due to erosion (as in figure 6c) This is also the only input to the eroded SC pool. - Filename: NEM_Eroded.tif;
f) Gross gains of eroded SC due to the lateral movements (as in figure 6d) - Filename: EM_LateralGain.tif;
g) Gross losses of eroded SC due to the lateral movements (as in figure 6e) - Filename: EM_LateralLoss.tif;
h) Output from the eroded SC due to microbial respiration (as in figure 6f) - Filename: EM_Respiration.tif;
In addition, we have a timeseries dataset: the net gains of carbon due to the lateral movements. This spreadsheet containing the total erosion, delivery and redistribution of carbon and sediments
