EUSO Soil Degradation Dashboard

The EUSO Soil Health Dashboard provides an assessment of the state of soil health in the EU. This assessment is expressed through key indicators which will be updated regularly according the availability of new data. By making soil data easily accessible through an interactive platform, the EUSO Soil Health Dashboard will enable users to visualise the progress of actions to reduce pressures on soil over time, reflecting the implementation of the EU Soil Strategy, the upcoming Soil Health Law and the actions of the EU Green Deal at large.

EUSO Soil Strategy Actions Tracker

EU Soil Strategy Actions Tracker – A new tool to track the actions listed in the EU Soil Strategy for 2030.
The EU Soil strategy for 2030 sets out a framework and concrete measures to protect and restore soils and ensure that soils are used sustainably. It sets a vision and objectives to achieve healthy soil by 2050, with concrete actions by 2030. This new vision for soil is also anchored in the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030, and the EU Climate Adaptation Strategy. The EU Soil Strategy Actions Tracker is designed to track the progress of the actions listed in the EU Soil Strategy.

The Soil Strategy Actions Tracker is the first step in the EUSO Soil Policy Actions Tracker to monitor EU policy actions relevant to sustainable soil management; other policies (e.g. EU Climate Law) are foreseen to be included in 2025. The EUSO Soil Policy Actions Tracker will be updated twice a year to illustrate progress in policy development. The EU Soil Strategy Actions Tracker builds on the KCBD Tracker from the Joint Research Centre designed to track the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030.

Details on the methodology used are provided in this technical report.PDF

CRCF Map Viewer

Under the EU Carbon Removal and Carbon Farming Regulation (CRCF), a carbon farming (CF) activity should provide a net carbon removal or soil emission reduction benefit to be computed against a baseline. To account for the risk of reversal after the CF activity has taken place, the Delegated Act from the CRCF requires operators to carry out a risk assessment. The risk assessment of the CF activity needs to be done before the start of the activity period. This CRCF Map Viewer provides a beta-version of the spatially continuous layers resampled at 5km relevant to the risk assessment for mineral soils under agriculture.
